On March 29, 2025, people in the United Kingdom and the United States were able to witness a partial solar eclipse. This is a rare occurrence, where observers can witness the moon overlying the sun with a crescent-like shape. This is different than a total solar eclipse, as the sun was not blocked entirely.  In the United Kingdom, the eclipse lasted for two hours, and at the peak, around 33% of the sun was covered. In the United States, the East Coast was able to see the eclipse right after sunrise.

This created a lot of excitement, as people on social media were posting about experiencing such a rare phenomenon. People in Asia, Europe, and North America should be able to witness a solar eclipse in 2025 and 2026.

The partial solar eclipse was able to show the beauty of the universe and the excitement many people had for this celestial spectacle. While brief, this was a reminder of how wonderful and vast our universe is.

As a reminder, experts advise people to use eclipse glasses or other indirect ways of looking at the event, as prolonged exposure can lead to permanent eye damage. Make sure to view the event with caution!
