Ex-Professional Golf Association (PGA) player, Tiger Woods, is widely considered to be the greatest golfer of all time.

Woods has accomplished great feats during his time, including the 1997 Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia. Woods shot a tournament record 270 over 72 holes and finished 12 strokes ahead of the rest of the field in one of the most dominant performances in the history of professional golf. He also completed the exclusive grand slam, where a PGA player needs to win all four majors.

As we explore deeper into all of the highs and lows of Woods’ career, we will find out how much better Woods is compared to other players.

Woods had some good times in his career to have a decent chance to put him at world number one. First, Tiger Woods has completed the Grand Slam three times in his career. He also won a quarter of his PGA tour events and has made the most consecutive cuts of 174 made cuts. With a total of 82 PGA Tour wins, he is considered a great player.

On the other hand, there are other controversial opponents like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer to challenge the throne. Out of the three, Jack Nicklaus has more majors and top 10s than Tiger Woods. Arnold Palmer, the least, has only 21 wins, but more top 3s than the rest. For the Nicklaus and Woods debate, Woods also suffered more injuries, like his current lumbar disc replacement. He also suffers from temper issues that can easily lead to more problems on the course. Nicklaus was a more controlled player and was a very consistent winner on the PGA Tour.

Taking into account the wins and whole careers, Jack Nicklaus was a better player than Tiger Woods.
