19-year-old Czech rising star tennis player, Jakub Menšík, goes head-to-head at the Miami open final against 37-year-old six-time Miami champion, Nova Djokovic, who also happens to be his childhood idol.

After the match was delayed by almost six hours due to heavy rain, the teen was given plenty of time to zone-in and think about tactics. Meanwhile, Djokovic had been seeking to claim his 100th tour-level title of his career, joining Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) as the only three men in the Open Era with or more than 100 titles.

Entering the match ranked 54th, Menšík was met with tough odds however making the finals. Facing the globally renowned veteran, the Czech remained poised and grappled through the sets with phenomenal serves, winning more than 3 quarters of his first-serve points, taking the championship title after playing the match of his life for a 7-6(4), 7-6(4).

With this win, Mensik will climb up to a career-high No. 24 in the PIF ATP Rankings to become the second-ranked Czech player behind No.21 Tomas Machac. Djokovic, although disappointed with the unsuccessful attempt of defending his title, spent his speech during the trophy ceremony praising the young boy.
